What program was Habbo Hotel made by?(Like Flash,C++,etc...) How did they make it online compatable? As in what scripting did they use for it? Dont you need a server if you are going to make something like Habbo Hotel? -If so where could you get one? Does anyone have the character or pixel buildings/furniture in chipsets or anything like that for Rpg Maker or so on..... Also to make that sort of based game/chat would it take a long time? I have just thought of a new project for my friends other board and I would like to know any information about how to make the Rpg/games online compatble/multiplayer what so ever. :)Thank you for your help and will be waiting for replies and need to know fairly soon but thank you everyone. As far as I know Habbo was written in Flash Shockwave, which is online compatible simply because it was made as a chatroom with movable graphics. Habbo uses a lot more than 1 server, as it has to cater for thousands of people at a time. My guess would be at least 3 or 4 servers just for .co.uk residents. You can use your own PC as a server although it's very costly and usually used for businesses. I've never come across a Habbo chip/charset before but if you're really dedicated you could make one from screenshots probably. To make Habbo, yes it would take a very long time. Especially if you're working alone, and impossible if you're planning on using an RPG maker... To my knowledge you can't use the RPG maker series to make online games, however you could make a game and put it downloadable from a website.
My suggestion would be to experiment with the RPG makers before starting a big project, then when you feel confident begin work on whatever you had planned. Remember: never aim too high ^_^
