Hello all! I am organising a big event called "The Battle of the Makers"(sucky name). It really is a big thing where you make a game in the space of 3 month and the better game wins. Post-in your name below if you want to join it. RULES: 1. It has to be 100% complete by the closing date. 2. You will be judged on: Map Layout Dialogue Use of Chipset Storyline Humour (if any) 3. I will be taking part in this event, so I need some judges! If you wanna be a judge, post-in your name below and next to it put: Judge Anyway, good luck to all! NOTE: The game will not be judged on coding and use of pictures. Also it must be done in either 2000 or 2003. This is a FULL RTP CHALLENGE meaning you can't import stuff into your game. You can only use the original files you start with...

I can judge seeing as I've played a lot of rpg's yet have not made any, and I don't think a first game is going to be anywhere near the standard you chaps are at. Plus I can't code for shit so fleh... I'll judge ^_^

Also allowed a custom gameover screen. By "pictures" I think (and hope) he means custom sprites, charsets etc. I reckon because many people who will enter (and they WILL enter ) will be on their first game, we should have chipsets for towns/maps etc disallowed because they add too much to the game. Things I will be looking for in the game: - Playability - how exciting it is.
- Use of customising on monsters/crits/items - a wide range preferable unless that overrides the game story.
- Sounds/music - In the right place at the right time for the right mood.
- Animation - if extra animations are allowed as I expect they will then timing in this and how well they flow is important.
- Story - most important of all, an original story with original characters. I know these games will most likely be completely made up lands with strange monsters but try to make it somewhat believable, no planes or cars in medieval settings.
Enjoy making, you have 3 months

Alright, you've pulled my leg. I'll allow 3 and only 3 alternate charaset but any amount of animated versions of the 24 characters (8 charas per charaset) is allowed. Stankey, btw, a picture is really a picture. Thats all it is. An image in the game that you can do things with eg: move, fade in/out etc. But still no chipsets or battle animations. Monsters, only custom if neccessary.
